Cibus 2018, the foremost exhibition of Italian food for international markets, will take place from 7th May to 10th May in the Parma Exhibition Centre. It will showcase, along with our Murgella brand cheeses, the entire range of typical Italian food products and those from specific regions. To enhance this event, there will be previews of products that are being put on the market for the first time, a new pavilion for exhibiting a selection of innovative products, talk shows and debates on the trends and dynamics of innovation in the food sector and many cooking shows.
This will be a special edition for Cibus, celebrating 2018, the year which the Italian government proclaimed as the “Year of Food” with the specific intent to increment the productive growth and export of Made-in-Italy food products. That is why the “incoming” program of foreign buyers has been intensified and a new exhibition pavilion will be inaugurated to offer even more services to the 80,000 professionals that will be gathering in Parma during this time. The 19th edition of this event happens to take place at a favourable time when the Italian economy is showing significant and encouraging results in the food sector.
The role of Cibus as a platform for exportation has been confirmed by the arrival in Parma of buyers from the most important international distribution chains and by the expansion of the conference program for the study of specific aspects in advanced food marketing. Understanding the trends in the agro-food sector, increasingly strategic for our country, becomes a decisive step for the development of Italian businesses that are able to compete in the world, thanks to the extraordinary qualitative standards starting from the promotion of typical local products and a proverbial flexibility. That is why Regional groups from Chambers of Commerce and Consortiums will be among the key players at the Parma fair, along with top chefs in the stands who will propose creative ways of cooking the new Italian products.
The new Food Court and Gourmet Taste formats are interesting with tastings and cooking shows which will encourage the almost 2,500 top foreign buyers from the most important retail chains to give even more attention to our rich and productive agro-food sector.
